At a REIA (Real Estate investors Association) meeting I mentioned that buying mortgages was easier and much simpler than doing short sales and usually got larger discounts depending on the equity in the property and the senior or junior amounts of these liens (mortgages or notes). Doing a short sale for me is like Kryptonite to Superman and is just too much time for the potential net profit.
